About Me-
Ivyia Adams MS, LMHC, CCTP, CSTS

Ivyia Adams is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, trauma specialist, shame specialist, yoga teacher and community leader dedicated to helping individuals and families heal, grow, and thrive. With more than three decades of combined experience across the mental health, corporate, and community sectors, Ivyia brings a holistic understanding of human behavior — blending evidence-based psychology with real-world strategy and leadership insight.
As the founder and president of Tampa Bay Therapy & Training Services, Ivyia works with a diverse clientele that includes executives, professional athletes, reality TV stars, entrepreneurs, and professionals seeking balance, clarity, and performance rooted in emotional wellness. Her integrative approach combines holistic, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and shame-informed therapy, tailored to each client’s lived experience. She is both a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and a Certified Shame Trauma Specialist (CSTS) — credentials that reflect her ongoing dedication to advanced clinical training and holistic care.

Before founding her private practice, Ivyia spent over a decade in corporate leadership roles at major firms including FIS, Ceridian, Acclaris, and Bank of America Private Bank, where she led global teams in operations, quality assurance, marketing, and project management. That experience deepened her understanding of stress, leadership fatigue, performance pressure, and identity conflicts often faced by high-achieving professionals — insights she now applies to her therapeutic and coaching work.

In addition to her private practice, Ivyia serves as a Committee Member for the Hillsborough Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) CAC, where she contributes her expertise to community well-being, equity, and sustainable public policy initiatives across the Tampa Bay region.

At the heart of her work is a guiding belief: healing is not about fixing what’s broken — it’s about remembering who you were before the world told you who to be. She truly believes we all have the power within us to live a better life and become our highest and healthiest selves.
